January 3, Epiphany Sunday

Ephesians 3:1-12

Unison Prayer

O God, the mystery of Christ, hidden for ages, is now revealed: those who have been divided are members of the same body. They share in the same promise through the gospel. May we have courage and faith to bring closer the vision of all humanity united in God's new creation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

January 3, Epiphany Sunday

Matthew 2:1-12
Prayer of Confession

Lord, even at the beginning of Jesus' life, the dividing walls between races and cultures were breaking down, The Wise Men had neither Bible nor tradition to understand his birth; yet you brought them to worship and offer gifts. Forgive us for holding on to the divisions. May we continue our witness to all nations, friends and strangers alike, until the world is one in your love. In Jesus' name. Amen.

December 27, Christmas 1

Colossians 3:12-17

Prayer of Confession

Holy God, Your expectations of us are high. You expect us to be kind and patient. You expect us to be forgiving. Above all, you expect us to clothe ourselves in love. During these days we find ourselves hurried and preoccupied, failing to live our best. Forgive us, we pray. May the peace of Christ rule in our hearts. May the word of Christ dwell in us richly, so that everything we do may be done in the name and spirit of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

December 27, Christmas 1

Luke 2:41-52

Unison Prayer

Loving God, you entrusted the child Jesus to the care of Mary and Joseph. From an early age he considered you his Father as well. Even though he caused his parents anxiety, he remained obedient to them and was treasured in their hearts. May we treasure our children as well, holding them in our hearts as they increase in wisdom and in years. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
